Ester Community Association Committees The ECA committees are responsible for all manner of events and care & feeding of our fixtures. Some, like the Park Committee, are standing committees, with czars at their head, while others come into being for special events or short-term purposes and then fade into the sunset, or until needed again. We eschew permanent committees, with certain important exceptions, so as to avoid the plague of bureaucracy. The Community Planning Committee came into being in 2004 in response to a borough land nomination on Old Nenana Highway. The committee meets irregularly, oas the need arises. For more information, please see the committee's webpage. The Library Committee has five members and is the newest ECA group. It is responsible for the care and feeding of the John Trigg Ester Library, library fundraisers, organizing library volunteers, and other bookish duties. The Park Committee's longstanding czar has been Mark Simpson, with Mike Musick and Don Cameron as czars emeriti. Frank Therrell is the rink & outhouse czar, and Hans Mölders and Columbo as trash czars. The park holds one or two work parties every summer to keep the place spruced up and to install new equipment and amenities. Please see their webpage for more info. The Trails Committee has been working on identifying and maintaining Ester-area trails. Geoff Orth is the trails czar, with help from Frank Therrell and JD Ragan. Please see their webpage for more info. The Web Committee is responsible for the website. If you spot an error or have information on an ECA event that should be on this website, contact Deirdre the webmistress at estereditor [at ] mosquitonet.com.
