Ester Community Planning Committee

The ECPA concerns itself with land use and planning issues in the Ester area. The borough and state own significant chunks of land in our area and are showing interest in developing them. To make sure this is done responsibly and with the community of Ester in mind, local residents are getting together and working on a community plan, including elements such as a cemetery, and working with the borough on proposed land sales such as Emma Creek East and the Graceland development, adjoining the infamous Contentment Estates.

Trails, safety, and a pleasant and community-oriented long-range view are elements of good planning that the ECPA is working toward. The ECA cooperates with other community organizations and individuals on planning issues, since planning affecting one part of the community affects us all.

For more information or to be placed on the ECPA e-mail list, contact Devta Khalsa.

Projects:

Ester Land Use Plan
Cecile Lardon. This plan will help prevent haphazard development of the Ester area and make sure Ester-area residents are organized in the face of borough land sales and nominations. Without it, the borough can determine what our community will look like. As there are thousands of acres of borough property in the Ester area, and the borough is attempting to develop them, this plan will be more urgently needed as time goes by. If you are interested in helping to determine the future of your community, contact Cecile Lardon about joining the plan development subcommittee.
