Spring is imminently going to sproing, the redpolls are about to create their annual mob scene, and the new Local Et Cetera is FINALLY out. I am usually able to expound, at length, on any number of topics (just ask my friends, neighbors, relatives…), but this month, Her Editorship is just plumb wore out. So you’re going to get the Condensed Editorial this month:

Hayes: resign, man. Just the appearance of impropriety is enough to cause distrust, and a man in your position requires trust to do his job properly.

The nonbinding Congressional resolution on Iraq: the Democrats have proven yet again, without a shadow of a doubt, that they’ve lost their spines and don’t know where to find them. JELLYFISH! And not even the stinging kind…

Saving habeas corpus: Hear, hear, for the few members of Congress who this year are attempting to undo the godawful travesty of governance that resulted when the Military Commissions Act was passed last year. I, for one, did not appreciate it when my Congressional delegation voted to give the president the power to define what is and is not torture, to “disappear” those whom he chooses, to hold indefinitely anybody he decides to declare an enemy combatant—and not tell anybody about it if he so chooses—without charge. Can you imagine Ted Stevens, Lisa Murkowski, or Don Young voting this way if Bill—or even more ludicrous—Hillary Clinton was in charge? I don’t think so! Presidents aren’t kings, but Congress apparently forgot that little detail—because Georgie is a Republican king.

Sun: IT’S BACK! WAHOO!
