The Annex, where Cartoon North will be on exhibit, is a large gallery owned by painter and sculptor Nancy Burnham, situated near Fairbanks and featuring studio space and a small shop. The mission of the gallery is to provide opportunity and a venue for artists working in all media and to encourage individuals to explore their art form. The gallery fosters a relationship with the community and provides for education about both traditional and nontraditional art. Community events and fundraisers are a regular feature on the Annex's schedule.

Bosco's of Anchorage is sponsoring Scott McCloud's visit to Alaska. McCloud will be conducting workshops in Anchorage, Juneau, and Fairbanks.

The Comic Shop, in Fairbanks, is also sponsoring McCloud's tour, as well as Cartoon North itself. The Comic Shop carries graphic novels, cartoon collections, anime, manga, comics, and many illustrated works.

The Ester Republic Press, as well as assisting with publicity, is publishing the companion catalog to the show. The Press publishes and distributes cartoon collections, graphic novels, poetry, local history, and The Ester Republic newspaper.

Gulliver's Books is an independent bookstore in College, Alaska, and has been serving Fairbanks since 1985. Gulliver's encourages buying local first, and enjoys and supports Alaska's sequential artists and local authors, with book signings and other events.

The Observatory, ABAA, sells antiquarian books and maps. Dee Longenbaugh, the proprietor, has a passion for the history of Russian America and specializes in the 16th to 19th centuries, focusing on Alaska, Siberia, and the polar regions. The bookstore was established in 1977 in Sitka, and moved to Juneau in 1992. She is a member of the Antiquarian Booksellers Association of America and the International League of Antiquarian Booksellers.

UAF Summer Sessions is helping sponsor Scott McCloud's tour to Fairbanks. Jamie Smith, Cartoon North's curator, has been teaching drawing and cartooning classes with Summer Sessions for the last three summers.
