Sponsors of The Ester Republic

The businesses and organizations below have been regular supporters of the paper, buying advertising and providing moral support to the publisher, who is extremely grateful for it. For the most part, they are local residents and neighbors.

Water Wagon: Sponsor since 1999
Don's one of the original sponsors of the paper, starting in the inaugural issue. Water Wagon is a local water and water tank supplier in the Ester Industrial Zone, near former Berry.

Gold Hill Liquor & Gas: Sponsor since 1999
Phil has been a sponsor since the second issue. He sells the paper and the Local Et Cetera, and has great videos for rent (not to mention some superior liquors).

Golden Eagle Saloon: Sponsor since 2000
The Eagle has sold papers and advertised in the paper since the second year of the paper's publication. The Eagle is known as "Ester's living room": it's a gathering spot where community events happen and local news is shared. Hillary and Doug have graciously allowed the
Republic office to use a corner of their parking lot.

Blue Loon
: Sponsor since 2003
The Blue Loon is one of the local watering holes, with the added benefits of good food and independent movies. Adam Wool brings good music (some world-class acts have shown up here, such as Johnny Winter, the Holmes Brothers, and many others) and fun events to Berry and Ester.

Evergreen Alaska: Sponsor since 2003
Dwight and Linda operate this realtor & mortgage services business from downtown Fairbanks.

Badger Fuel: Sponsor since 2004
Jeff's company sells heating fuel and gas. This locally owned business is out in North Pole, but they help keep the entire Interior warm.

Goldstream General Store: Sponsor since 2004
Goldstream General Store is your old-fashioned Alaskan log cabin general store. They've got a great selection of wines, movies, and edibles, and they have a laundromat!

Parks Highway Chevron Station: Sponsor since 2005
Situated in the Ester Industrial Zone and known locally as the "Ester job center", the little convenience store there features food, snacks, coffee, a book exchange, and a counter with diner-style stools.

Bellies & Babies: Sponsor since 2006
Bellies & Babies specializes in baby and maternity clothes, including nursing wear and Alaska Girls clothing.
