Monique Musick, writer & photographer

A native of Ester and a photojournalist, Monique is a frequent contributor to The Ester Republic. She has her own photography and digital imaging business, PhotoSynthesis Alaska. Monique has held internships at the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner and at the Republic, was the production manger for Mushing Magazine for several years, and has worked as the Wood Center darkroom manager and at the Rasmuson Library's Photographic Services. She has held the Republic together twice now in the publisher's absence (thus allowing the regular editor to take a vacation!). Her contributions to the paper have included photographs, poetry, and news articles. Her photography in the paper won an award from the Alaska Press Club in 2006.
