With eyes to see the lies Even in the provincial confines of Fairbanks, Alaska, doubts about the morality and legality of the Iraq war are growing widespread. According to national polling, nearly 60 percent of Americans believe the cost in flesh and fortune has been wasted. As the tide of returning veterans come home, broken, torn, absent limbs, plagued with nightmares induced by Post Traumatic Shock Syndrome, their blood, urine and semen tainted by Depleted Uranium (DU), that number will grow. So it's good to know that the local military recruiting office is wheelchair accessible. Damaged beyond measure by lies told and repeated here, injured veterans wishing to empty colostomy bags on a recruiter's desk have earned the right to full access and expression. photo & caption by Douglas Yates, USMC 1968-1970, v. 7 n. 6 | |
