Letters to the Editor July 28, 2004 So, I found this CD at Fred Meyer called Bushspeak: the Curious Wit and Wisdom of George W. Bush, which contains a series of tortured sound bites from our esteemed Commander-in-Chief set to patriotic musical accompaniment, and which I highly recommend to anyone who can’t hear enough of Mr. Bush’s somewhat less than successful efforts at making himself clear. It’s a riot. What struck me as most telling, however, was not only that this fine recording was placed in the humor section of the CD rack, alongside such stalwarts as George Carlin and Cheech & Chong, but that there is actually now a separate file in the comedy section titled “George W. Bush.” I’m forced to conclude that Alaska’s largest retailer now agrees with the rest of us that the President of the United States of America is a joke. Just thought I’d let your discerning readers know about this. Hugh Morris
August 15, 2004 We would like to thank everyone who was so generous to us during our time of need. Rest assured that with a little time I'll be right as rain. All the phone calls, your thoughts and displays of concern were very helpful. Special thanks to those at the EVFD for doing what you do so well. You folks are the best. Thanks again to everyone who took the time to care. Ester Rocks,
