Letters to the Editor January 29, 2004 Please note that a recent article, 'Undressing for Defence", contained a historical error: Menachem Begin was not assassinated, it was his successor,Yitzhak Rabin, who was murdered by a Jewish fanatic in 1995. Indeed, many considered Begin, who died in 1992, to be a fanatic. RE. recent editorial 'Spaced': I think the term 'Pecking order', did not originate in the military ranks, but instead devolved from the poultry farm. Raymond Hadley February 7, 2004 I was greatly inspired by reading the front-page article in this morning’s Fairbanks Daily News-Miner (February 7, 2004) telling about Senator Seekins’ stand on predator control. His latest proposal to the Alaska legislature is to make it easier to shoot more moose-eating bears. Remembering that he was the one who lead the attack last year on moose-eating wolves, I was so inspired, in fact, that I wrote the following poem, presented here for your consideration:
—Neil Davis, self-proclaimed poet (P.S. Republican Ralph says he wants to shoot rather than relocate all the predators, but in this case he might agree that relocation is preferable.) Fairbanks, Alaska
